23 T Bucket Makes 429 RWHP!

Terry Burris brought his 23 T Bucket 393 Stroked Cleveland Street Rod in for tunning. The car is equipped with a C6 transmission and Ford 9 inch axle through the mufflers. The baseline pull was 381 RWHP. After a session on the dyno Jim improved upon that to the tune of 429 RWHP with only 28 degrees of timing on 93 octane pump gas. That was accomplished with a tune kept conservative to prevent detonation in hot weather.

Magazine Clips from 1992 Archives

Back in mid/late 1991 Turbo Connection was just getting started. Here's a few clips from the archives that appeared in the Jan 1992 issues of "Mustangs and Fords" and "Turbo and High Tech" Magazines. It featured a totally stock notchback other than a Turbo Engineering Turbo Kit and Jims "wizardry" ran an astounding 11.33 at 124 MPH! When we say STOCK we mean STOCK! Stock throttle body 19 lb injectors YES 19 lb injectors rockers EVERYTHING!

99 Vette D1SC 402 Cranks Out 688 RWHP on E85 runs nines at the track!

Matt has been a customer of ours for some time now. Several years ago we installed an ATI D1SC Procharger on his otherwise stock setup other than headers exhaust and high stall converter. It cranked out 515 RWHP with the stock converter and 490 RWHP with built trans, high stall converter and 9 psi boost. The all stock engine ran 11.20's at 124 MPH back then. Over the past several months he's installed a built 9 to 1 CR 402 and brought it to Jim for tuning, several mechanical/electrical issues, and debugging. When it arrived it would hardly run and sounded like a prostock at idle. Jim spent several days working out the mechanical/electrical issues and then kinks in the tune. He had the car idling with just a "slight lope" at idle(quite a feat considering how healthy the cam used was) and silky smooth driveability from off idle through redline! It cranked out 622 RWHP on 93 octane fuel with meth injection. Then s few weeks ago the old alky kit started acting up so Matt contacted Jim for a better solution. Jim told him that he has made tremendous gains on E85 fuel and optimized tune. Matt gave Jim the nod and the vette was upgraded from 60 lb injectors to a set of 80 lb injectors then revamped/optimized tune via HP Tuners software. After several days of tweaking the car made 688 RWHP with just 10 psi boost! When Matt picked up the car, Jim told him it was a handful on the street, that the car would go nines in the quarter but that it would probably need slicks to get the power to the ground. Matt's a veteran racer and based on the dyno numbers and fully loaded weight of Vette he agreed. On Tuesday Oct 5th Matt took it to Gateway International Raceway and found the track to really be hooking up. On his full out pass the Vette ran 1.66 60 ft 9.95 sec at 142.34 MPH in 1/4 mile on DRAG RADIALS! Congrats Matt! Check out the dyno pull and quarter mile pass below:

1200 PLUS Rear Wheel Horsepower 70 512 BBC Turbo Monte Carlo

A few months ago this 70 Monte Carlo showed up for a tuning session. During the course of the day, we went from 900 rear wheel horsepower with 5 psi boost to 1200 PLUS rear wheel horsepower at 15 psi boost! That translates to 1600 PLUS engine horsepower!!!! What makes this especially extraordinary, is it was accomplished on 110 Octane race fuel WITHOUT an intercooler!! The car features a 512 inch Big Block Chevy with conventional 23 degree heads, single plane intake, 850 custom blow thru carb and hat, Boost Cooler alky injection kit, custom solid roller cam, custom turbo headers with a single Precision Turbo PT106 Turbocharger.  Power is transferred through a custom build Turbo 400 transmission with trans brake into a narrowed and tubbed Ford 9 Inch rear axle and 4 link suspension.

802 Rear Wheel Horsepower 66 Chevelle 406 Small Block

This 66 Chevelle was brought to us from North Indiana for tuning. Chad had heard about us through word of mouth and several internet posts on our company 2005 Procharged GTO. Chad's Chevelle features Canfield Heads, 8.5 compression forged small block chevy with healthy solid roller, 850 blow thru carb, alky control injection running on 110 octane race fuel with 16 psi boost. After several key issues were addressed it was time to strap her down to the dyno and make some power. Chad's previous best was 560 rear wheel horsepower. Working with jetting, timing, alky mixture and volume flow rates, performing air inlet upgrades, and an aluminum twin disk clutch upgrade, we proceeded to walk the power up to an astounding 802 horsepower at the wheels THROUGH THE MUFFLERS!!! Based on typical parasitic drag information thats 1000 engine horsepower folks!!!
